If Heat get Sixers without Embiid, they may get lucky. If they win they play loser of #5 vs #6 teams for playoff spot. Please no. My heart and ego can’t handle another massacre.

Yup. I’m already losing focus waiting and hoping for a merciful ending to this “gap year” season.

Heat has a 47-50% chance making the playoffs. If they make it they’ll face the Pistons. And I don’t want to get my hopes up again if they started winning. We know teams have incentives making the playoffs but Heat fans are hard pressed between consistent mediocrity and a surprise performance that will eventually crash and burn.

ManilaHeat

They can’t beat the Raps, Magic, Celts. Well, maybe one more try vs Magic if they face them in the play-in. Defense is bad this season. They may have “solved” the offensive puzzle but mediocre on d. One more win and lets call it a season.

Wait…if we win one more regular season game and lose the play-in that’s a 42-42 record right? This might be the end of our play-in reign lol

In The Divine Comedy, I read that the torture in Dante’s first circle of hell was humans have to watch last season’s 4 game playoff sweep on a continuous never ending loop.

Yikes. So to avoid that hell they need to lose in the play-in.

Two completely different types of players.

Bout30man

Despite a torrid stretch, it all ends in another disappointing loss. And, truthfully, many of these defeats have been blowouts. The Heat will win 42 most likely, but are, as the Michael Myers character on SNL, Linda Richman would say, “ no big whoop.” We could have been better if we just made a few minor adjustments, but we got crickets from our GM. Just keeping Precious would have probably gotten us a sixth seed. And maybe one more move and we would have been competitive. It’s a damn shame.

I don’t know about that sixth seed idea with a career 8/6 guy.

Riley made the decision not to do anything to improve the team before the deadline, thus accepting mediocrity. It looks like he is also not interested in extending Powell, Wiggins or Herro.

MIAtrix
MIAtrix

There’s no rush to extend any of those players, especially if we are looking at trade options this summer. Powell can be used in a sign and trade. Wiggins has a player option for next year. He can opt out for a longer contract, but there’s no rush to make that decision at this point.

Eventually this franchise will have to undergo a “trust the process” Sam Hinkie rebuild after Riley and Elisburg are gone. Trade everyone and stockpile picks.

With Wiggins only scoring five points, I have to wonder if he is still being bothered by the problem he has with his foot. That is something the Heat have to take into account when considering whether to sign him or not. He has said that the issue is chronic.

Andrew Wiggins is dealing with left big toe sesamoiditis, an inflammation of the bones and tendons in the ball of his foot, according to SS and cbs sports. The issue, which stemmed from a pre-existing injury during his time with the Golden State Warriors, caused him to miss eight games in March 2026 before returning with the Miami Heat, notes Yahoo Sports

Yes, true, but it seems just as likely that it could be the toe injury. And that is not natural, it’s a chronic condition. And I played a lot of nyc type sports and some basketball.

You are unbelievable. As I stated above, with documentation, it was an injury sustained while he was with GS and flares up periodically. It has nothing to do with this season at all. Can playing exacerbate it? I suppose it does. But he had it before he got here.

But on this issue, I agree with him. And I agreed last season. You don’t seem to care or recognize that last season we not only got swept, but had the worst point differential in the history of the playoffs! It was sickening. You want to test those waters again after watching multiple blowouts the last few weeks? I don’t.

Bout30man

We played so well that quarter. It’s stretches like that that are so impressive. I don’t blame people for expecting more from this team. Sometimes they can look like they can beat anyone.
