
Miami alum Tre Donaldson isn’t going to have to drift too far to begin his NBA career.
Moments before the end of the 2026 NBA Draft, the former Hurricane point guard signed a two-way deal with the Miami Heat, according to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania.
Donaldson was one of the better undrafted guards left for Miami to pluck. He fills one of the Heat’s three available two-way contracts, previously held by Trevor Keels and Vlad Goldin. Jahmir Young also had a two-way spot, but was converted to a standard contract at the end of the 2025-26 regular season.
In his only season with the ‘Canes, the 6-foot-3 guard averaged 16.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He shot 45.4 percent from the floor, 35.9 percent from 3-point range and 76.6 percent from the free-throw line.
